Myth & purpose in life

Something is missing in our hyper-rational & scientific world. Decades ago it was religion, beliefs which go beyond the world of mater, beliefs that gave life a purpose. External validation, accomplishment, money, material-goods bring only superficial satisfaction. What our soul is looking for is a myth, the creative and novel flow that runs through our veins and wants to be expressed in the world.

The following two videos bring it to the point. Marie Louise von Franz is Jungian Analyst, especially known for her analysis of fairy tales and alchemical manuscripts. The second video is from Academy of Ideas a great channel that summarizes complex philosophical topics in a digestible manner.

…the lack of meaning in life is a soul-sickness whose full extent and import our age has not yet begun to comprehend.
